Article 3 – Purpose
The purpose of the oldmap website is the online sale of reproductions of old maps intended for private individuals. The products offered are high-quality reproductions and not originals.
Article 4 – Acceptance of the Terms
Any browsing of the website and any order implies full and unconditional acceptance of these general terms and conditions. The applicable terms are those in force on the date of the order.
Article 5 – Products
Products are described as accurately as possible. However, minor variations in color or rendering may exist between on-screen display and the delivered product, without constituting a defect. Offers are valid while stocks last.
Article 6 – Prices
Prices are indicated in euros (€). In accordance with Article 293 B of the French General Tax Code, VAT is not applicable, unless there is a subsequent change in the tax regime. Any delivery charges are indicated before order validation.
Article 7 – Order
An order becomes final after:
validation of the shopping cart,
acceptance of these terms and conditions,
full payment of the price.
The seller reserves the right to refuse any order in the event of a prior unresolved dispute.
Article 8 – Payment
Payment is due immediately. The accepted payment methods are those displayed on the website at the time of the order. Banking data are never accessible to the oldmap website.
Article 9 – Delivery
Products are delivered to the address provided by the customer. Delivery times are indicative. A reasonable delay cannot give rise to compensation. The transfer of risk occurs upon handover of the product to the carrier.
Article 10 – Intellectual Property
The old maps offered for sale on the oldmap website are, unless otherwise stated, in the public domain. The website publisher does not claim copyright over the original works represented. However, the following are protected under intellectual property law:
the reproductions as physical products,
the digital files, processing, restorations, layouts, selections, and presentations produced by the publisher,
all editorial content of the website (texts, descriptions, graphics, logo, structure).
The purchase of a product grants the customer a strictly personal right of use of the acquired physical reproduction, without any transfer of reproduction, distribution, or commercial exploitation rights over the files, processing, or editorial content of the website. Any reproduction or exploitation of protected elements of the website, outside uses permitted by law, is prohibited without prior authorization.
Article 11 – Liability
The seller shall not be held liable for:
improper use of the product,
indirect damages,
temporary interruption of the website for maintenance or technical incidents.
Article 12 – Applicable Law
These terms and conditions are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought prior to any legal action.
